Grand Conjunctions, The Black Death, and Medieval Astrology – Chris Mitchell
Chris will be looking at what techniques medieval astrologers used to
make their predictions, citing the work of Gersonides, a learned rabbi
and brilliant mathematician, who was commissioned by the Vatican to
look at the significance of the Grand Conjunction of 1345.
Conjunctions of Jupiter and Saturn were also considered important by
medieval astrologers since they only change element every 240 years
and therefore these cycles can set the stage for thousand year
periods. The manuscripts written by Gersonides show not only how he
came to his conclusions but also give insight into the house system
used.

RE: BOB MILNE AKA MAGIK MERLIN
I am using your website to inform you sadly of the death of my father, Bob Milne from Sudbury.
He passed away on March 17th suddenly in hospital although he had ongoing health problems.
Amongst his many and varied hobbies, Astrology was his most long standing and he used to be involved in astrological meetings both locally and regionally over the last 30-40 years. He also gave readings under the name of NEW HORIZONS and I also think he worked for Jonathan Cainer’s astrology phone line a while ago.

I’ve left a part of your comment here as a tribute to Bob who was a stalwart of The Suffolk Astrological Society for many years. Our next meeting will commence with a minute’s silence in his memory. My condolences to you and your family.
